Kortney first started working in publishing in 2014 after graduating with a B.A. in English from Greenville University. She interned with Andrea Hurst & Associates, Amphorae Publishing Group and Inklings Literary Agency before moving up the ranks and accepting a job as a literary assistant at Holloway Literary. Now she’s grown into her very favorite job as literary agent apprentice with Corvisiero Literary Agency.
As a reader, Kortney is a firm believer in “escapism” and loves any story that refuses to be put down. Whether it’s a a fantastically spooky thriller or an epic, sweeping fantasy she’s always looking for a story that hooks her from the start and won’t let go until long after the story has ended.
Some of her favorite stories include Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, anything by Lois Duncan, The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, Austenland by Shannon Hale, all of Jane Austen’s works, the Harry Potter series (of course), and many, many more.

Outside of her world of books and publishing, Kortney can typically be found attending musicals, meandering through art museums, watching an absurd amount of movies, pretending she understands and can teach sports at her aunt’s special needs nonprofit, exploring the city, catering to her diva dog’s every whim, and trying to rein in her new puppy.
